"What can I get, and where can I get it?"  If you're like many homeschoolers, shopping for educational materials for yourself and your children is a pleasant hunt for treasures.  To aid your hunt, HERO provides a number of shopping suggestions.

Barnes & Noble, Located at 6100 N May Ave. in Oklahoma City offers a free educator discount card that give 20% off of most purchases in the store and now online!  Visit the store to signup; no documentation is required. Anyone who signs up at the store by April 20th, 2010 is automatically entered in a drawing for a $50 gift card.  Educator Appreciation week is April 10th - 18th, 2010 - 25% off of books and 10% off of CD's, DVD's and Blu-Ray. State Department of Education - 2500 North Lincoln Boulevard, Oklahoma City, OK 73105-4599.  The State Department of Education has no authority over Oklahoma homeschoolers, but some of the online resources intended for the public school community may be helpful to homeschoolers, particularly P.A.S.S. (Priority Academic Student Skills), the state mandated curriculum guidelines for public school students in kindergarten through the 12th grade.  Also available:  School Laws of Oklahoma, Oklahoma Requirements for High School Graduation, and a page for homeschoolers containing curriculum links and aids.
