Metropolitan Museum of Art - Over 3,500 objects can be viewed online on this site. You can
search the site for a particular object or just browse around at the different collections. There is a
time line of art history along with a daily artwork archive. The museum kids area has many
activities you can explore including videos and slide shows of artists and their works.

Best Homeschooling offers "What's your best homeschool advice?" articles written by some of today's most experienced  and notable homeschoolers.  Chock full of information for thinking and learning parents with hungry minds.

Big Oak Curriculum provides families with excellent, affordable teaching tools for use with Oklahoma history, geography, and sign language studies.  

The Family Education Project - A family site containing lots of information and great activities.

Funbrain - The Funbrain site contains educational, interactive games for children.  Categories include "Numbers," "Words," "World," and "Extras" for ages (approx.) 4-18.   Great for those times when you want to add a little reinforcement to learning but more fun than workbooks.  Easy to use.

Math And Reading Help For Kids - is a content-rich directory of hundreds of original articles, tips and resources centered on the topic of children's learning.

Noggin - NOGGIN is a website for a new TV channel that includes the old goodies from Sesame Street, Electric Company, 3-2-1 Contact and other great kids' television programming.  The site has games and activities from the shows.  For children from toddler age to about 5th or 6th grade.

Learn in Freedom - Karl M. Bunday's priceless and extensive web site on all you ever needed to know about homeschooling!

Oklahoma Homeschool - provides free unit studies and timelines and a wealth of other information for homeschoolers.

The Well-Trained Mind - This site offers articles, resources, and links for classical home schooling, plus an active set of message boards for parents using classical methods.

Middle East Geography - Online blank map of the middle east.  Drag the names of the countries onto the map.  Excellent way for kids (and adults!) to brush up on middle eastern geography.

CIA World Factbook - thorough, complete and up-to-date set of pages--one for every country in the world, including maps, natural resources, environmental issues, life expectancy, religions, languages, literacy, even number of radios and televisions.  Although this excellent site by the CIA is on the "dry" side, we have found it incredibly helpful.

Countries of the World - profiles each nation and province in the world.  Contains thousands of pages with information on world history, weather, governments, maps, flags, economies, people and currencies.  Even listen to national anthems!

Hyperhistory Online - 3000 years of people, history, events, and maps in a handy interactive timeline that lets you see what was happening in science, culture, religion, literature and politics.

Travel Oklahoma:  Oklahoma History Student Guide - Neat information on Oklahoma history.  In addition to the information about Native Americans, it also includes the fascinating but less widely known role of African Americans in state history.  There is also a free downloadable student guide to Oklahoma History

Student's Guide to Oklahoma - a brief history, famous cowboys, Indians, fast facts, and emblems (did you know the state musical instrument is the fiddle?).

Oklahoma State History - includes beginnings, African Americans, Oklahoma Heritage, Native People, the Cowboys, the Outlaws, Wild West Shows, Rodeos, the State Song (may be taken from the Oklahoma Department of Tourism guide above).

Archiving Early America - Learn American history from the horse's mouth, not through a textbook committee's choice of material.  Archiving Early America is a primary source for material from 18th Century America-- all displayed digitally.  A unique array of original newspapers, maps and writings come to life on your screen just as they appeared to our forebears more than 200 years ago.  Includes games, crossword puzzles and trivia.

The Wessels Living History Farm Web Site - has been produced through a generous bequest of David Wessels, a bachelor farmer from York Nebraska. The site has over 400 stories about the history of agricultural innovation and the history of the 20th century. One of the site's strengths is that it relies on a series of oral history interviews. These streaming media segments can bring an historic period or event alive for students today.

Math U See - Math·U·See's goal is to help produce confident problem solvers who enjoy the study of math. The reason we study math is so we can apply what we learn in everyday situations. The students learn their math facts, rules, and formulas, and are able to use this knowledge in real life applications. The study of math is much more than committing a list of facts to memory. It includes memorization, but it also encompasses learning the concepts that are critical to problem solving.

Dositey Educational Site - Dositey.com offers a wide range of free, interactive, and fun online lessons, exercises, step-by-step exercises and games, as well as a large choice of printable worksheets, activities, open-ended questions, challenging math problems and more.

Geometry Step by Step from the Land of the Incas - This interactive web site uses a variety of techniques to introduce geometry to the user. Mathematics, music, visual  displays, quizzes, puzzles, science, history, and geography are integrated in this web site. A very visual and engaging site which brings geometry to life.

Homeschool Math - Resources for homeschool math teaching: free basic operations/decimals/fraction worksheets, curriculum guide, elementary math ebooks, free lesson plans, teaching tips, math hangman game, resource link list emphasizing interactive content and games.

Interactive Mathematics - This site uses LiveMath, Flash and Scientific Notebook interactives to enhance mathematics lessons. Aimed at Grade 8 to early college level, this site is good for homeschoolers to investigate the meanings behind mathematics. As the site says, "Learn mathematics while playing with it!"

Magical Balloon Math - A home school curriculum designed for home school educators to help develop problem solving skills, mathematics and eye-hand coordination.

Math Goodies - a free educational web site featuring interactive math lessons.  The innovative lessons use a problem-solving approach and actively engage students in the learning process. There is Homework Help, Chat Boards, Calculators, Puzzles, a Math Image Library, Educational Links, and much more!

Math in A Box - free advice and placement testing for homeschool and college students that need to take algebra.  Math tutoring and online classes by the web site owner/developer are also offered.   Elementary school age children or their parents will also benefit from the comments and worksheets offered.   This growing web site offers to meet the math (especially algebra) needs of those at home (students and adults) or of those restricted by a full schedule or by finances.

Natural Math - a gentle approach to math--very respectful of children.  Highlights include an alternative to memorizing multiplication facts, math jokes, games for even the youngest mathematicians, and a bad teaching practices Hall of Shame!

Calvert - Calvert School has been in homeschooling for many years and has a wonderful curriculum and program, as well as helpful forums, chat rooms and more.

Common Sense Press - Offers an online brochure, "Choosing Curriculum that is Right for You."  Publishes the Learning Language Arts through Literature series.

Center for Distance and Independent Study at the University of Missouri - offers courses designed for homeschool families for both elementary age students (grades 3-8) , and high school students (grades 9-12, including the MU High School through which students can earn a diploma.) 

Eagle Christian School - An online junior high and high school offering a quality Christian education to homeschooled students around the world.

Indiana University High School - offers self-paced distance learning and diplomas.  Typical enrollees are homeschooled, homebound, or otherwise not thriving in a conventional high school program.  Accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools.

Sonlight Curriculum, Ltd. - homeschool curriculum and supplies resource. 

Oklahoma University High School Distance Learning Program - OU High School (OUHS) provides the opportunity for teenagers and adults to earn a fully accredited high school diploma through distance learning. Students can also take selected courses to supplement a high school program at another school. Our courses are also often used to augment home schooling.

Oklahoma Virtual High School - Oklahoma Virtual High School is a FREE state-wide program that offers you the ability to go to high school online AND graduate with a diploma! The program is a fully accredited solution that provides online courses for students across the state of Oklahoma. We offer a full–time option for students, grades 9-12, who are looking for an alternative to the traditional environment, for whatever reason. With Oklahoma Virtual High School, you now have another option.

The Biology Project - An online interactive resource for learning biology.  Contains everything you need for an advanced high school or early college-level biology course.  Loads of images and info useful for younger learners, too.  Extremely well done.

Inner Learning Online - Study the anatomy of the human body.  It’s fun, interactive and an ideal reference site for students or who just want to know more about the medical descriptions used by doctors and nurses."  We really enjoyed this site.  It has some great pictures of the different systems in the human body, that were not too graphic for my three year old.

The Solar System in Pictures -Pictures and picture-quizzes of all the planets, optimized to download fast.

Virtual Frog Dissection - If you've ever wanted dissection knowledge without actually touching a dead frog, this is the place to go.  Would also be a good preparation or "follow along" resource for those performing hands-on dissections.

PRO-Oklahoma (Parents Reaching Out in Oklahoma) - a statewide parent training and information project.  Provides services statewide to parents and professionals developing educational programs for disabled children.  Can provide specialized information, skills, and training.   Serves learning, physical, emotional, or mental disabilities.
